The 2 postures in this practice are both forms of sitting.
Sitting = 1 of 3 base postures of a human being
Activating mobility = alignment with the human design
- The human body is designed to move. (More about this here.)
- Sitting is not typically associated with mobility. (More about movement and mobility here.)
- Of the 3 base postures of a human being, only 1 posture (standing) is associated with mobility.
- This practice activates mobility of the sitting posture.
- Activating and cultivating mobility of the sitting posture makes 2 of the 3 base postures of a human being mobile.
Being on the ground activates the full range of motion of your center of gravity. (More on center of gravity here.)
This practice also cultivates the following:
- Your ability to distribute your weight through your body
- Groundedness and centeredness (by your center of gravity being and moving close to the ground)
- Flexibility
- A unified body

Utilize the seated postures in the practice and be on the ground as often as possible
- During meditation
- During leisure activities (sitting on ground whilst watching tv and/or when playing with children)
When feeling:
- A need for new perspectives
- Scattered
- Tight
- Sluggish
